Cricket Vision Platform

A CV module for bowling-machine batting sessions

A focused computer vision system for academies, clubs, and players who want objective batsman feedback from the machine end of the net.

Vision Module

Mount a camera module above or below a bowling machine to capture a repeatable view of the batsman, ball path, bat, and wicket zone.

  • Consistent batsman-facing camera angle
  • Works with machine-delivered practice balls
  • Designed for net sessions and repeatable drills

Tracking Pipeline

Process each clip through the existing Modal pipeline for ball segmentation, bat segmentation, player pose, depth, aggregation, and speed estimates.

  • Ball and bat masks, boxes, trails, and centroids
  • YOLO-pose landmarks for batsman mechanics
  • Depth-assisted ball and bat speed estimates

Batsman Feedback

Turn the analyzed clip into practical feedback for the batsman: what moved, when impact happened, and which correction should come next.

  • Impact frame and contact-zone review
  • Head, shoulder, wrist, and foot movement cues
  • Session trends across repeated deliveries

Physical setup

Designed to sit with the bowling machine

The static site should make the hardware idea obvious: the CV module belongs at the machine end, looking down the pitch toward the batsman. Mounting above gives a clean view over the chute; mounting below keeps the module compact and protected.

Above-machine mount for a higher view of bat path and body shape
Below-machine mount for a low-profile training-lane setup

Coach workflow

A practical review layer for batting sessions

Cricket Vision organizes clips by batsman, drill, delivery type, and impact result. Coaches can compare one player against their own prior sessions and repeatable machine settings.
